How very interesting that the City Council would vote down the EMERGENCY LEGISLATION for the $74,000 I-75/Manchester Road interchange study??  Yet, with no apparent details they voted awhile back to approve EMERGENCY LEGISLATION for nearly $20 million in HUD Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds??  Could it be that prospects for future housing construction/rehabilitation contracts plus certain real estate services played a role in this EMERGENCY??  By the way, HUD has very clear conflict of interest provisions!!

Well apperantly more money can be made via HUD than having an interchange. Plus there is no jusification for an interchange at the Manchester Road connection anyway. Unless of course you own property in the area, similar to the Atrium deal. (Thats just me guessing I don't have a clue)

Who and what was Tony Marconi referring to last night on the Atrium real estate deal?  Was her referring to another elected official?

One should evaluate leadership based upon consistencies. If the school can waste $250,000 in attempting to make money with the land grab, what is the chump change of $70,000? Lets take note, about $30,000-$50,000 was spent in marketing the Renaissance and the Mall, which were virtually guaranteed to have no return. I am not a civil engineer, but generally speaking, a circuitous route around the city or peripheral would have value. If the study is mandated (which one would assume it is, I know the city can
t change a speed limit 5 mph without a study, it may be worth the investment. There are occasions is does make sense to spend money to make money. I haven't evaluatedf this sufficiently to say it does, but in theory, it may be very logical.

How interesting that the City of Middletown would spend over $400,000 in HUD funds for the demolition of the former Amanda plus Maple Park schools?  Shouldn't these expenditures be borne by the MCSD instead? ConfusedConfused

I don't know but isn't Butler County requesting funds from HUD in this next round to demolish the old Monroe High School?

You are correct Wasteful.

My point is that HUD money was transferred in the past by the City of Middletown braintrusts to take care of what was the clearly the responsibility of the MCSD.  It's my belief that few people knew of these actions to fund the demolition of the old Amanda and Maple Park schools.
