May 20

A marijuana pipe was found in one of the holding cells in the Middletown City Jail. It was destroyed.

Five televisions, a window air conditioner and antique dishes were stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Smith Avenue.

May 21

Someone tried to steal a 3-ton air conditioner from a residence in the 0 block of Baltimore Street.

Cash, cigarettes and Ohio Lottery tickets were stolen from U.S. Market, 2126 Hill Ave. Blood was collected off the front door.

A self-propelled Toro lawn mower was stolen from outside a residence in the 1600 block of Columbia Avenue.

Copper piping was stolen from a vacant house in the 400 block of Moore Street.

Someone stole $147 out of the cash register at Reyton Inn, 6147 Ohio 122.

An air conditioner was reported damaged in the 3200 block of Navaho Street.

A Trane air conditioner was stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Taylor Avenue.

An injured goose was shot twice by a Middletown police officer at the dead end of Terry Drive.

Medication, clothes, and an electric razor were stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Sheffield Street.

A home that was being prepared to be rented was vandalized and more than $3,000 worth of copper and metal were stolen.

May 22

Someone threw a rock through a window and stole $120 out of a truck that was parked in the 2200 block of Hawthorne Street.

Numerous items, a TV, PlayStation III and memory cards, were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Grimes Street.

David Moorhead, 31, of Columbia Avenue, was charged with importuning, a felony 5, and for fictitious registration after he allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl about sexual favors.

A radiator hose was reported damaged on a truck that was parked on Maple Street.

May 23

A tan purse, prescription medication and $67 in cash were stolen from a residence in the 3900 block of Jewell Avenue.

When residents in the 300 block of Young Street came home, they believe they scared off potential thieves. The front door was ajar and the dogs were behind a closed gate in the home. Nothing was missing.

A student at Summit Academy, 7 S. Marshall Road, was cited for possession of marijuana after the drug was found in his right sock.

Danielle Bowers, 40, of Park Lane, was charged with shoplifting after she allegedly stole $40 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd.

Internal components of an air conditioner were stolen from a residence in the 3700 block of Greenview Drive.

A Middletown man, Justin Hogsten, 33, of Yankee Road, was charged with felony 5 theft and criminal trespass after he allegedly tried to steal four car rims valued at $1,100.

Eugene Mongar, 29, of Waneta St., was charged with petty theft after he allegedly tried to steal nine packages of sawzall blades from Denny Lumber, 1800 First Ave. The woman with him, Bessie Turner 22, of Middletown, had a warrant through the Monroe Police Department for traffic offense. She was arrested and transported to Middletown City Jail. Both were trespassed off the property.

A Domino’s deliveryman said he delivered $44.61 worth of pizza, sandwiches and chicken wings to a home in the 1600 block of Smith Avenue. The person took the food and refused to pay for the items.

May 24

Monique Hawley, 32, of Concord Drive, was charged with petty theft after she allegedly stole $79.02 worth of items from Family Dollar, 3633 Dixie Highway.

Jeff Wagers, 28, of Mallard Court, was charged with felony warrants out of the Monroe Police Department and for possession of drug paraphernalia/crack pipe after he was stopped at North University and Shafor Street.

When a resident in the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue returned home, he noticed someone had knocked down his fence and stole four ladders.

A fraudulent $3,800 check was cashed at CheckSmart, 3487 Dixie Highway.

A 40-inch Vizio and a 32-inch Samsung TVs were stolen from a residence in the 490 block of Woodridge Drive.

May 25

Copper piping was stolen out of the basement of a vacant home in the 1300 block of Orchard Street.

May 26

Two men ran up a $50 bar tab at Fricker’s Restaurant, 4810 Roosevelt Blvd., and left without paying, a waitress told police. She wanted to pursue charges against the men because she had to pay the $50 bill.

Someone broke into Miller’s Lounge, 124 Charles St., and stole $120 from the register, $300 to $400 from the dart machines, two laptop computers and did $7,000 worth of damage to the jukebox.

When Dwayne Winkfield, 28, of Roosevelt Boulevard, was transported to Middletown City Jail for a warrant, crack cocaine was found in his pocket. He was additionally charged with drug abuse/crack cocaine.

A 25-year-old Middletown man told police that a man who thought he owed $150 for heroin capsules put a gun to his head while he was walking. He said the man was wearing a bandanna over his face. No one was injured.

Vandals damaged an exterior camera, a glass window and a Bud Light neon sign at Shaddock’s, 4713 Central Ave. They also stole a jar containing $50 in change and candy. All the items were valued at $1,500.
