These people, by the title of their position, seem to have a real jobs. Would like to see how many Directors, Asst. Directors, Managers, Asst. Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders are on the list also. Don't need multiple "information passers" in the pipeline to communciate from top to bottom in such a small organization. That type of nonsense usually happens in larger corporations. We always hear about the workers getting cut. How about cutting some higher salary management also.

Can anyone answer how laying off employees paid by the Community Block Grant Funds is going to help the General Fund?  And who is going to administer the programs that are going to be funded by all of the recent grant applications?

Notice the layoff date.  I wonder if any are up for retirement between now and 12-31-09.

I would bet some of the individuals have time in so they can retire.  There were individuals hired in this area that have less time in.

My understanding is NONE of these individuals are retiring or are eligible to retire.  The two inspector's jobs are being contracted out and the two Neighborhood Improvement positions are being eliminated.

I think we have to many high paid people, who dont do a whole lot. Lets lay some of them  off. To many leaders and not enough followers in Government!

Many companies lay off more employees than they need to. Then they re-hire back those they really need.

It is a good idea to find out the bare minimum level a company needs to operate, and when they fall below minimum, they can re-balance their fixed employee costs more appropriately.

Government should do this but you know they never will.
