Journal story about the Midd/ Hamilton bus route in the planning stages. Article said that Middletown will use a portion of it's $170,000 federal funds to operate the route. Question- How many people, both in Middletown and Hamilton will benefit from this venture at this cost? Are there that many people that travel each day from these two cities to justify spending this amount of money, particularly in these tough economic times? How full will the buses be traveling up and down Route 4? This "demand response system" that Steve Murphy talks about- does that mean that the buses will only operate when they have enough calls? If so, sounds like there is no way they could work out an operating schedule that would maximize the use of the buses. Bet, after this is enacted, we see mostly empty buses at any given time on Rt. 4. Might be a novel idea but may be another waste of city money, perhaps.

Puit that 170,000 to use here in town fix some of the potholes. Cut some of the brush and trees blocking views at intersections in town.
