From an article in today's Middletown E-Journal:

Water runs out as crews battle Middletown fire

Baltimore Street fire July 4, 2014, Middletown

MIDDLETOWN —

Water ran out for about 4 1/2 minutes Friday night as Middletown firefighters battled a blaze at a detached garage.

Yet, City Hall pays no attention to our city's infrastructure!!!

“Mulligan said he ... doesn’t believe they necessarily make the return on investment necessary to keep funding them.” …The Middletown Journal, January 30, 2012

Mike
This property is located in the forgotten 2nd Ward and therefore only gets demo funds.
As Middletown's infrastructure continues to decline we will see more of these types of problems because City Hall has been kicking all these important problem cans down the road for years.

As I recall with no pressure in the lines there is a good possibility to contaminate the lines.
Especially if there was a pumper hooked up to the hydrant.
Was a boil order issued?
