Dan Picard is vacating his ward seat to run for an at large seat? Seems Dan has been indoctrinated in the Butler County system of political musical chairs.
Picard is a failure at business and a struggling lawyer that needs the income from his City Council post so bad he will do anything to keep it. Including straddling the fence on Senate Bill 5 (Issue2). Whatever happened to serving on City Council to serve the citizens? |

I'm going to have to disagree with you about Picard being a failure in business. He has an office in Monroe. My understanding is that his practice is quite successful.

Mr. Picard is crossing the line. He is pandering for the votes of those whom are the only ones in Ohio, who not operate under the long established law of and "at will" employment agreement, whereas either the employee and the employer can terminate employment at any time, for any reason, or for no reason.
It is a disgusting ploy. The state has an election on this issue, is he so desperate he makes it the center of a campaign theme, obviously so. Is he expanding his practice to now handle alternative dispute resolution, and wants to be an arbitor? What message does this send to businesses and potential residents not protected as tecahers, police, and firemen, that there is a councilman who sold himself out for votes, negatively impacting others?
His position would be in the event Ohio passed the issue, he woukld encourage Middletown to continue to make police and firemen the bast paid employees in Middletown, in a city of poverty. He should be recalled even after he loses election for plaicing city workers ahead of the constituents whom elected him.

Do you think MAYBE that Mr.Picard would like to move out of his ward AND retain his Council position?
If so--why doesn't he simply say so?
Don't agree with him often, though I find him to be an enjoyable human being.

John B.-Dan pacards office and practices was purchased off a very successful judge. So I don't think that I would jump to his defense so quick.

Picard failed in the paper business and is failing in the legal business. He needs the money from the Council job more than any desire to serve the citizens.
