On Saturday August 1, 2009 I attended Middletown City Council Candidate Andrew Smiths office opening on Central Ave. There was a nice turn out for the event which began with Smith being introduced by local business owner Steve Hightower, President of Hightowers Petroleum Co.

To view the introduction by Mr. Hightower and the speech given by Mr. Smith, follow the link below August 1, 2009 Campain Office Opening

I've been viewing this site for sometime now, and this post just triggered my new membership.

I'm not really a fan of liberals, however, Mr. Smith is doing some really impressive things for his campaign. I'm a voter in the second ward, and considering that all of the candidates in the race so far are democrats, I really don't want to vote for any of them. If no republicans jump in the race, I will throw my support behind, Mr. Smith.

Ms. Ford is way out of touch with the issues city wide; especially the second ward. And, John Soppanish just doesn't have what it takes to get us back on track. So far, Mr. Smith is laying his platform out the best. Hopefully, his youth won't get in the way.
