A water main break at the Middletown Community Pregnancy Center (1131 Central Ave) on Sunday morning caused flooding and extensive water damage to the building which also houses TV Middletown. The water main broke on the fourth floor of the building, which sent gallons of water rushing through each floor. Candice Keller, the executive director of the pregnancy center, said that when she arrived Sunday morning, water was gushing out of the windows and doors. In addition, the flooding has TV Middletown off-air as of this morning because there is currently no power.
The pregnancy center provides support for pregnant teens by offering free counseling, baby clothes, diapers, formula and more. Keller said the flood has soaked the center's computers, furniture, and baby supplies. The center will be closed for an estimated two weeks while it is cleaned up and items are salvaged.
Keller hopes to get the center back up and running as soon as possible because it is the only pregnancy center of its kind in the area and the girls are in need of their support.
