Middletown Murals Seeks Models |
Tuesday, October 28, 2003 1:26:47 PM - Middletown Ohio |
To prepare for future Middletown murals in the planned series by muralist Eric Henn, Middletown area citizens are asked to dress in turn of the century or 50’s style clothing and come downtown on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at 2 pm. to have individual and crowd photos taken which may be used as part of future murals. Some residents may have appropriate clothing or accessories in their family storage areas. Others might check with local drama groups to see if such items are in their costume collection.
The photo session will be held mostly outdoors, in the parking lot between the former Bank One building and Hope House near the corner of Central Avenue and Main Street.
One part of the photo session will be for those with period clothing. Another photo will be of those in 1950’s garb.
It is hoped that people with antique hats, coats, or other portable items of daily life at the turn of the century will share their items by posing for the photo. Those who can appear as small girls with 1900s dolls, young mothers with baby carriages, paper boys and shoe shine boys are sought. Full costumes are not necessarily required.
The 1950s photos will include those wearing local high school letter sweaters, girls in poodle skirts, saddle shoes and other 50’s vintage items.
Mr. Henn will take the photos and then spend the cold winter months planning and drawing sketches of possible future murals for Middletown building walls.
While there are no guarantees that a photo will eventually appear in a mural in Middletown, Mr. Henn works to include as many of his photo models as possible as he paints the huge outdoor pictures.
In the case of inclement weather, the photo shoot will be rescheduled.
