Judy Gilleland, City Manager in Middletown since 2008, has been awarded the prestigious Career Achievement award given by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration. The Public Administrator of the Year Awards presentation will be April 19 at The Phoenix in downtown Cincinnati.
Mayor Larry Mulligan nominated Ms. Gilleland for the award noting her “30 year career in the field and her outstanding work in the 5 years she has been in Middletown. We are very fortunate to have a city manager with the experience, creativity and hard work she brings to the position. We look forward to many more years of her leadership.”
Each year the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA-GCC) honors outstanding individuals for their work in the field of public administration including government, education, and the non-profit sector.

Winners will be honored during ASPA-GCC’s Public Administrators of the Year Awards Banquet on April 19, 2013 at The Phoenix in downtown Cincinnati. Award recipients will also be recognized as part of Public Service Recognition Week (May 5-11, 2013) at the Greater Cincinnati Public Service Recognition Celebration on Wednesday, May 8 at noon on Fountain Square.
The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) was formed in 1939 and is the premier professional association of public administrators in the United States. The Greater Cincinnati Chapter (ASPA-GCC) is a voluntary association of interested individuals from government, nonprofit, academia, and private sector organizations dedicated to promoting recognition for public service, providing professional development opportunities, and offering technical assistance to area public administrators.
