Middies Announce Mens Head Basketball Coach
Monday, August 5, 2013 11:59:46 AM - Middletown Ohio

Middletown High School Athletic Director Gary Lebo is pleased to announce that Mark Baker has accepted the position as head men’s basketball coach for the Middletown Middies, pending the approval of the Board of Education.

“We are thrilled to have Mark join our school and to take over the helm of the Middie basketball program”, said Lebo. Coach Baker most recently was the Head Coach at Trotwood High School for three years finishing with a 57 win vs 15 loses and a three time GWOC coach of the year. He was voted as a high school All-American basketball player from Dunbar High School and played for The Ohio State Buckeyes winning back- to -back Big-Ten Championships in 1991-1992. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to the basketball program from his experiences at the high school, college and professional level. Mark is someone that will reach out to the community and is a proven role-model and leader that will be good for our student-athletes.

“Mark Baker was a tremendous athlete with national experience and a track record of successful high school coaching. He is committed to reaching out to our students and community and to building on the Middletown tradition of excellence. We are delighted to have attracted a gentleman of his caliber to work with our students”, said Principal
Carmela Cotter.
