| Middfest Invites Artists to Create Works Using Scotch Plaids |

Artists are invited to design original art works featuring Scottish plaid design and pattern to be entered in the Middfest International contest and exhibit which will be shown October 2 through October 24.
“Scottish Plaids: Crossing Cultures” will feature works reflecting the tradition of plaid. The contest is open to all artists, 18 years or older working in fiber arts (quilting, weaving, needlepoint, crochet), multimedia, baskets and dolls.
Jurors for the show will be selected from among critics, appropriate well-known artists, and educators in the field. All works of art must be accompanied by a $10 entry fee. Limit three pieces per artist.
Awards will include Best of Show, $300; People’s Choice, $200; First Place, $150; Second Place,$100; and Third Place, $75.
Artists selling their works during the show will contribute 30 per cent to Middfest International.
All accepted works must be ready to hang. Glass cases and pedestals will be available for three dimensional works.

October 24 – Exhibit closes
October 27-28 – Art work shipped/picked up 1-5 p.m.
