From Judy Gilleland
In addition to the Armbruster Nature Preserve development, city crews will be working with community volunteers, members of the Tree Commission, Keep Middletown Beautiful, and Duke Energy to revitalize Miami Park this year. Similar to efforts in previous years at Sunset and Douglass Parks, many dead and dangerous trees will be removed in the coming days and weeks ahead of the revitalization efforts as part of the Earth Day celebration in April. As previously reported, Duke Energy and its contractors have volunteered to remove approximately 30 trees as a starting point to the overall plan to spruce up this park. Crews may be in the park as early as March 14.
We will have pre and post presentations at upcoming council meetings highlighting all of the fantastic activities going on all over town through KMB and Tree Commission in recognition of Earth Day and Arbor Day. Many thanks to the partnerships and volunteers that make Middletown a better place to live.
