Skydiving - Music - Fireworks - Food
Open to the Public
Start Skydiving will host the 2011 Work Stinks Boogie and the Selection.Com Fireworks Show at the Middletown Regional Airport from September 2nd through September 5th. More than 300 skydivers will converge on Middletown jumping from five different aircraft. Some of the skydives will be comprised of more than 50 jumpers at once. Says Gene Newsom, General Manager of Start Skydiving, it is a great family outing to come out to the park, eat a burger and watch all of the beautiful parachutes in the air.
There will be live music on Friday evening, September 2nd with the nationally recognized band Hip Kitty. On Saturday evening, September 3rd members of Team Fastrax Skydiving Team will launch the Selection.Com Fireworks Show with their signature free fall pyrotechnics meteor shower performance. An AC/DC Tribute Band will perform after the fireworks show. This year’s fireworks show is sponsored by Cincinnati-based pre-employment background screening company Selection.com. Jim Boeddeker, CEO Selection.com, says, "This show is going to be huge and we are excited about bringing this free event to the Middletown community, it is something you won't want to miss out on." On Sunday evening, September 4th there will be a live nationally recognized Christian Rock band performing at 9pm. There will be several food vendors, an ice cream stand and a root beer float stand.
The daily events, concerts and fireworks are open to the public and donations will be accepted at the gate to support the Team Jacob Foundation http://www.wix.com/teamjacobfoundation/index. The Team Jacob Foundation was created in memory of Jacob Taylor, who lived 8.17.00 - 3.21.10. Jacob was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Team Jacob Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer and improving the lives of children going through treatment for cancer. They also support The Cure Starts Now in their efforts to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research. Over the course of his last year before passing, Jacob became good friends with Team Fastrax.
