Employee of the Month
Thursday, March 01, 2012 8:22:52 AM - Middletown Ohio

From Judy Gilleland - City Manager

This award is intended to recognize long term consistent excellent public service based on the core values of the organization. The Employee of the Month nominations will be submitted by employees but approved by the immediate supervisor and department head. The Employee Awards Committee will review the nominations on a monthly basis and make recommendations to the CM who will have veto power. This will be a $50 award, with one person to be chosen each month. A picture of this person will be in the newsletter and their name and picture will be posted in the lobby of the Government Center.

Luther Keith has been employed by the City since June 13, 2000 as the Litter Collection Supervisor. As a one man crew, his responsibilities include: litter collection recordkeeping; overseeing setup and cleanup of recycling programs; investigation of citizen complaints; supervision of work release trustees through Middletown Municipal Court; setup and cleanup of community events; and assisting City staff in various projects as needed. On numerous occasions he has been observed going above and beyond his normal job duties, whether by picking up tires that have been illegally dumped; transporting concrete for other divisions, or even cleaning up animals off the side of the road. Whatever the assignment, Luther willingly accepts and completes it. For additional information see the City Web Site, www.cityofmiddletown.org City Manager’s Weekly Briefing.

Congratulations to Luther on his achievement. He is to be commended for his positive attitude and is a credit to the city!
