Last Tuesday's city council meeting saw Interim City Manager Steve Husemann announcing the city's new Business Friendly Middletown Plan, at least somewhat inspired by comments or complaints of some Middletown city departments not being helpful or informative enough when dealing with residents interested in starting new businesses.
This week will have city department directors hearing a presentation about the importance of economic development to the city, the goal being to reinforce to these city employees that being pro-business should be their most important outlook. Additionally, Middletown Economic Development Director will be filling the role of the city's official business advocate, and serve as a source of direct help and information to new or prospective business owners in the city.
