Middletown’s City Tree Commission plans to provide and plant a free tree for up to four Middletown City property owners. With just a little water and care, a tree can grow up to be a valued part of your property! If you are chosen to receive a tree, you will be able to select what type of tree you would like (from the species that are available). A local landscaping company will arrange to plant the tree for you this fall.
All trees must be planted within the city limits in the public right-of-way (or within 10 feet of the curb) in accordance with the city’s tree ordinance.
-
Preference will be given to owners who have room to plant a tree in the easement (between the street and sidewalk) or within 10 feet of the curb.
-
Trees will not be planted near overhead utility lines.
-
Property owners who fail to properly maintain their current street trees or a lottery tree will not be eligible to participate in future lotteries.
-
All decisions made by the Tree Commission are final.
Deadline for entry is October 1st, 2011.
The City of Middletown and the Tree Commission are not responsible for replacing or maintaining the tree and also are not responsible for any future liability issues.
