Busing Problem restricts Black Youths
Wednesday, September 26, 2007 11:33:07 AM - Middletown Ohio

by John Beagle

The lack of busing is casing increased hardship and hurting attendance at Middletown Local Schools.

Many families can not afford the $2 per day per child to send their kids to school.

The Middletown School Board appreciates and understands the need to get the kids to school, said the school board president.

According to 2000 Census a little over 10% of the population in Middletown is Black. Yet this person thinks everyone in town should stop what they are doing to help the Minority. Maybe the Black community should start helping themselves. Start car pooling, funny I can get my kids to school when both my wife and I work but they can't.

It is the same old gimme, gimme, gimme, maybe when the rest of the community forces them to do for themselves their lot in life will improve.

I seriously doubt that their are any black teens standing on a street corner selling drugs so they can ride the bus to school.

The other alternative is that if the Middletown School system can not meet their needs maybe they need to find a community with busing. Hamilton, Franklin, etc.

The world does not revolve arounf 10% of the population.

Black or white, the $2 per day hurts everyone except the very rich. Or parents who don't have a work conflict and can drive their children to school.

I pity da foo' that thinks those guys are out there selling drugs to afford bus fare to school.

The school situation needs fixed, there is no doubt about it, but the country as a whole has become to dependant on entitlement programs that in the long run strip us of our independence by furthering our reliance upon government. This country was made great not by people who had things done for them but by people who did things for themselves. Do you think Henry Ford rode a buss to school? Do you think Abraham Lincoln was given lunch money because his parents were poor?

I wonder how many Black Churches in Middletown have buses that could be used to bus the Minority students to school?

The Goth look does nothing to further this speakers point, is she a student, a teacher or a concerned citizen who thinks we should continue to pamper the minorities once again.

Funny she is only concerned about the Black Youth and not the other 3% of the minority population in Middletown, I guess the other minorities are finding their way to school, hence we don't need to cater to them.

who is this idiot and why is she going on with this crap? is she on a mission. This makes me sick she sounds like whites are all rich.If she feels this way let her find a bus somewhere and hall them all to school
