Area Progress Council’s Project Excellence is seeking out nominations for outstanding teachers. This year marks the council’s 26th year of honoring Warren County educators. The project began in 1988 and has honored 571 educators. Each of Warren County’s school districts will have a teacher selected.
If you know a teacher or educator who makes a positive impact, submit a nomination. The Superintendent’s office in each district, any public school building, and any public library located in Warren County will have forms for nominations throughout February. Forms may also be found at all Warren County branches of LCNB National Bank, National Bank and Trust, 1st National Bank, US Bank, and all Warren County public libraries. Forms can be downloaded from the APC website www.OhioInfo.org . Nominations should be sent to Project Excellence, P O Box 802, Lebanon, Ohio 45036 by March 1st either thru email or US mail.
A banquet will be held at the Warren County Career Center on May 1st to honor the chosen educators.
An Area Progress Council representative, the district superintendent and a community representative will make up the committee to select excellent teachers. The criteria being used by the committee was developed by Miami University. To determine the 2013 award recipients, the nominations are evaluated and reviewed by district selection committees.
Volunteer efforts and business leaders have made the Project Excellence foundation possible. They are funded through contributions of supportive Warren County individuals who have an interest in the quality of Warren County education. The value of their current endowment is over $1 million.
APC is a nonprofit, non-political organization interested in the economic and social progress of Warren County. The APC organized in 1969.
