The event will run from 10am to 9pm on Saturday with a live battle at 3pm. On Sunday the event will run from 10am to 3pm with a live battle at 2pm. Admission is by donation.

There will be sutlers selling period wares, craftsmen, including a blacksmith demonstrating his trade, various booths including the Butler Boys exhibit, live music and a variety of food.

Some of the scheduled events are: Ladies Tea (RSVP only – first 50 ladies – young & old alike), Cavalry Competition, Fashion Show, a Pie, Jam & Cookie Baking contest, medical demonstrations including amputations and embalming, Civil War flag display, a Saturday night soldiers ball, emotional evening lantern tours, open air Sunday church service at the gazebo, an entertaining variety show with dancing & singing, reading of Civil War letters from the Monroe Historical Society archives, a quilt show, 1860’s school house, Meet the Generals and Lincoln/Davis presidential debate, an 1860’s no gloves baseball game featuring the Monroe Golden Lads vs the Monroe High School Baseball team and, of course, lots of black powder artillery, infantry and cavalry drills. We hope you spend the day with us and enjoy all the events we have to offer and learn more about this historic time in U.S. history.

If you would like RSVP for the Ladies Tea or sign up for the baking contest please email monroecivilwardays@gmail.com. We have something going on all day long and a complete program schedule can be found on our website.
