1917 Hospital
Middletown Regional Hospital was established more than 80 years ago in response to two tragedies — a train wreck in 1910 and a devastating flood in 1913. When the dream of a hospital became a reality, and the doors of the 28-bed hospital opened on March 5, 1917, its seven employees were immediately put to the test with the great flu epidemic of 1917.



Current Hospital
Today, Middletown Hospital has become Middletown Regional Hospital to more accurately reflect an ever-expanding service area, including Ohio's Butler, Warren, Preble, and Montgomery counties. The little, seven-employee hospital born out of tragedy in 1917 has matured into a modern, progressive, 310-bed, acute-care hospital that is now Middletown's second largest employer and one of the nation's top 100 hospitals.
