Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Middletown just recieve the designation of a tree friendly city recently ? If so why are they cutting down all the trees along Verity in downtown or is that Duke energy doing that ?

Hermes:
If you study the "history" of Middletown's "expanded historic downtown", you will find that we have regularly transplanted trees along major downtown streets, removed them a year or so later, and then replaced them a year or so after that.

Planting and cutting them down- could it be a stimulation program to help Armbuster, Berns and others? Wonder who the new tree supplier is for the city?

Mike that makes no sense at all to me. What is the purpose behind that ? I've always enjoyed the trees along that section, they seem to add something to the look of the street.

Don't understand why those big healthy trees downtown were cut down.
why?
The whole "beautification" thing is nice and appreciated, however it has little to do with the fundamental issues strangling our city today.

I agree with Mike--don't lose focus on the real problems needing to be addressed.
And don't be distracted by these extraeneous situations.
Pretending to be busy on side issues.
