Interesting read today
because we have the largest area drop in values, Mtown has by far the highest rate in the county. Yet we keep giving properties away, abating taxes on the giveaways, and bringing in more non-profits(no prop taxes) to take place of former tax-paying business properties. Doesn't make us very attractive to outsiders looking for a location imo. Until then, the long-term property holders and non-abated businesses will shoulder the re-gain from lost revenue? Maybe middielover can explain how this will change or work out in the long haul?? |

Interesting insight spider. Would Mr. Adkins or any of his supporters care to give us a reason why the city chooses to operate in this manner? Would you mind giving us property owners an explanation as to why we are shouldering the brunt of the taxes for this city when companies have the big money and could lessen the tax burden for us citizens if the city concentrated on bringing in more for profit business?
Why all the non-profits? Why the give-aways to non-profits? Mr. Adkins....... |

I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
