Journal story today about 400 property owners being cited for sidewalk, curb and driveway apron replacements.......
Just thought it a tad bit ironic that the city thinks it's alright to beat the property owner to death financially and holds the property owner responsible for fixing the deterioration on city owned property (sidewalks and curbs) (By the way, the curbs should be and were included in their street repair fund committee meetings they had years ago). The city can't fix the streets they have neglected for more than four decades in some cases. Why is the city pushing the people when they can't seem to get their act together to set the example? Apparently there is a double standard here. The city doesn't need to hold up their end of the deal but, by God, the property owner will be held accountable for fixing city owned property even if it does strap them financially. Nice to see the friendly interaction between the people and their "government" once again. |

I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
