How did your school perform on state report card?

BUTLER COUNTY — 

Ohio education officials released report cards on local schools Thursday that for the first time include letter grades in six categories.

 

MIDDLETOWN CITY SCHOOLS

Achievement — D

Progress — D

Graduation Rate — C

K-3 Literacy — D

Gap closing — F

Meet the new results......same as the old results......

Perhaps it's time to get parents involved. They need to take an initiative Toward their child's learning... I realilized there are some parents that don't have a high school   Diploma but maybe we need to to teach them first so they can help their child learn the value of an education.JMO

A Few observations.

!) Schools- Total dead end. Going nowhere. Complete waste of money on the nonsense, build it close to 75, they will come. All these ridiculous levies are meant for school board members to pat themselves on back, and say, we are great, we just dropped $125 Mm in local capital for our community. Good schools underpin everything in a city, far greater importance than the silly downtown revitalization stuff, when they bring in their consultants, and the Mulligans, and say....lets dump a few million down here.

2) Doug Adkins raise. I like Mr. Adkins and he is open and honest. Having worked in private sector for over 30 years, not sure where Middletown's size of 50,000 and using mean/ medium income of city's across the US, means a $25,000 is capital well spent. He is an excellent communicator and indeed, open, but to say a city manager is a turn around agent is rather stretching it. And, he works with many council members that have been on council when the problems he delineated were occurring. As for leaving, don't know where the private sector pays north of $160 Kk- $200 Kk, unless you bring a portfolio of decades of accomplishments and experience. And a couple of MBA/ MS in Finance, not a JD, moving from prosecutor to operations top change agent. Must have read Art Of The Deal, as he pulled one sweet deal on that sitting council Maybe Main Street helped. They like that cash surrounding the castles down there.

3) Lipstick-  The clock and that sign by Atrium, the Renaissance, just won't drive pull-through for that area nor Middletown. Paying the bucks to have AKS and Atrium to hold tight, is rather amusing, as a justification and sign of success. In my world, that's called being "shaken down."

4) Forget about that strip on Central, the fluff and buff east 75, new brick and that clock. Middletown is doomed, until the schools start hitting north on scores. And that isn't going to happen. Demographics just aren't there. So that heavy boat anchor, called MCSD, just sunk the boat, called Middletown revitalization, we are in a turn-around.

Tired of bailing water, so glad to be heading out.

Obviously, she was wrong.

          Graduation Rate-92.6%-B-Graduating in 5 years

AND YOU STILL BELIEVE THAT NEW SCHOOLS MAKE A DIFFERENCE? DO YOU STILL BELIEVE THAT YOUR TAX DOLLARS WERE SPENT WISELY AS YOUR PROPERTY TAXES INCREASED EVEN MORE? DO YOU STILL BELIEVE THE MIDDLETOWN EDUCATORS FROM THE SUPER DOWN TO THE TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOM THAT THEY ARE IMPROVING THE DISTRICT? DO YOU STILL THINK THIS IS A GOOD ROI?

If you do, you are in denial.

STOP VOTING FOR THE TAJ MAHAL SCHOOLS. THEY ARE NOT MAKING ANY POSITIVE DIFFERENCE AT ALL. Look at this evaluation. It is the same evaluation we all saw many years ago before the first new school was built. They have played you yes voters for a fool.
