The $1.8 millon dollars donated to for the renovations job well done stadium looks great. My question how much money is the district spending on upkeep? A little concerned that Ison thinks the stadium is located in the center of town. Not sure people living in the east end would agree. Now with an artificial field when is the money going to start rolling in from band competitions, middle school football, pee wee football and so on and so forth? The word on the street the district spends in excess of $1 millon a year on upkeep? How many people on the school payroll work exclusively at the stadium and the total cost of those salaries? With a district that is on the verge of being broke this is fiscal irresponsibility at its best. The voters just passed a levy to tear down MMS because it was to costly for the upkeep. Priorities a little off kilter?

Tournament time for high school football. Kettering Alter and Cincy Wyoming are playing at Monroe. There are also a couple of games slated for Hamilton's Stadium.
Just upgraded Barnitz and it seats around 7000. New turf, new paint, new landscaping and a nice scoreboard and pressbox. Great effort throught the private sector and a very nice facility now. Something to be proud of in this city. Wouldn't it have been nice if the city/schools had contacted the Ohio High School tournament folks and showcased the new/renovated stadium? Residuals could have added to the city revenue with the fans coming into town for a meal/hotel combo perhaps. If Monroe and Hamilton can be selected as tournament sites, why not Barnitz? |

I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
