Just imagine the mass exodus of rats and roaches and mice out of that building. Don't be surprised when they find that a homeless man sleeping on the canal was eaten alive by rodents.

if that's the extent of the demolition, and if that's the wonderful view, I'd rather they left the building standing!

Tudor- perhaps the rats, rodents and roaches ran across the street toward One Donham Plaza to join the others. ?????

Many fine, hard-working Middletonians worked at the Sorg over the years.

Nelson- don't forget the convention center that was talked about a year or so ago down toward the riverfront. Another pipe dream by city planning. All is not lost though. We still have the AK Pavillion where concerts are never given, a newly paved parking lot where cars are never parked and a fine brick walkway with engraved paver bricks that are never read. A hole improperly dug to the tune of a $350,000 fine from the Army Corps Of Engineers for silt release that has become unidentifyable with bushes/trees, formerly known as Lake Middletown. And, for extra enhancement, we have a newly refurbished bike path that is used by less than 5% of the city's population. This whole scenario is a classic overview of the type of correctly focused can-do thinking from our city leaders that we have learned to embrace and cherish. Lord, will they ever go away?

409 - Thanks for the pics. Looks like they have made a lot of progress since last weekend when I was down that way.
People, this is a privately funded endeavor by Wausau. They will continue to control the property once the buildings have been removed unless they decide to deed the land to another party. I am thankful they are being a responsible corporate citizen and removing this blighted, vacant property. Sad that is is no longer productive. Sad that another piece of Middletown history will soon be history forever with no chance in getting it back. And no Mr Self - The MiddletownUSA blog has been turned into the Nelson Self-Interest Blog. As someone previously stated, your posts are becoming tiring. If you have that much evidence that the city is involved in misuse or illegal use of funds, then either sh*t or get off the pot as the old saying goes. |
