I am surprised that nobody has mentioned the rash of break-ins or the shooting that went down at Gas America due to a drug deal gone bad. I think Middletown needs to get its act together before it ends up like Detroit.

As expected, this is the kind of activity a city receives when it sponsors a town theme of ghetto-creation and invites all who are looking for a place to land to receive government freebie handouts. Overabundant voucher handouts in the form of Section 8 and the elements it brings to the city, will only foster more criminal activity like this. Thanks city leaders for trashing a city that was topnotch at one time. I'm sure the cops are thrilled by this additional crime you have brought here. Still don't understand why people, at election time, can change the whole complexion of the game, overcoming the MMF sponsored vote, by voting for new people rather than the same old tired screw-ups we have lived with for years and choose not to. Just takes some effort to get the lazy fat butt off the couch and go punch some buttons on a screen. Ignorance of the issues perhaps? Certainly apathy (with bitching attached). In the meantime, they keep complaining about how the city is run while people like Picard, Mort, Cohen, Mulligan, Gilleland, Landen, Kohler and others take it slowly to the sewer for selfish arrogant purposes. Lord have mercy on us all. |

Sadly, it just isn't Middletown..People are also running out of places to escape to, since the ghetto areas of all places are just getting bigger all the time. I suspect it is easier to sit around and get a govt handout, rather than take education seriously so you can find a job. I still don't understand why there isn't a limit to Section 8...If it keeps up, there will just be a town of Section 8 that nobody else wants to be apart of...

viper,
There is supposed to be a limit on Section 8. Now that Butler County has an entire town dedicated to being a ghetto, I would expect that those vouchers will continue to increase. Thanks be that my situation made it possible to escape Middletown before things go from bad to worse!!! |

The lifer section 8 crew isn't going to vote to bite the hand that feeds them. And the crew just keeps growing.
My wife and I voted absentee this year due to her health. Couldn't be easier.
Side thought....the cost of 2 stamps was probably less than the cost of driving to a new polling place.

If things continue to get worse (and I mean where it is unsafe just about everywhere) I will prob end up moving as well.
