Sommers Drops out of School Job

   The school board recieved word that Dr. Bob Sommers was not going to stay in contention for Middletown School Superintendent. 

In and email sent to the board on January 7, 2010, he wrote, “I have accepted a position with the Cornerstone Schools in Detroit to be the CEO of their newly formed charter management company,” Sommers wrote. “I am excited about this new opportunity to build upon the 18 year history of Cornerstone’s academic excellence as an independent school as it seeks to transition to a series of charter schools to help Detroit children have excellent opportunities in life.”

A reception to meet the other two finalists for Superintendent of Schools are: Lloyd D. Martin - Superintendent at Mansfield City Schools; Greg Rasmussen - Assistant Superintendent at Wichita Public Schools Wichita, Kansas, will run from 6:00 P. M. until 6:30 P. M.

	Good Lord! Let us all pray that the school board comes to their senses and we have a Wichita/ Rasmussen connection in our future. Anyone can see that Martin is too much of a risk and has too much baggage/controversy/questionable ethics - let's hope the school board heeds the Mansfield warnings and chooses " The Rasser"!

	Due to the circumstances, they should start from scratch again, be more open with the citizens, and drop Martin!
