Over the years as I have sat before my TV watching the City Council Meetings and over and over again I have heard the same response from City Hall, we don’t have the money.
We don’t have the money to clean up the canal.
We don’t have the money to repair the streets.
And the latest is we don’t have the money for the separation of the sewers.
Month after month I find myself asking the same question…but where did all the money go?
We have been paying into these funds for years yet millions of dollars have simply disappeared from theses enterprise funds and we the tax paying public seem to have absolutely no idea of where all this money has been spent.
Have we not been paying close enough attention to what is really being said and voted on at the council meetings?
Have we allowed money to be removed from these funds for a purpose other that what they were legally intended?
Have we the tax payers been asleep at the wheel?

You are absolutely right. Middletown needs more citizen organization groups to call attention to what is going on in the city with its tax payers dollars. I know in Springboro that if anything happens, there is some community group calling attention to an issue either in the local newspaper or TV News. We need the same type of involvement to help wake up the citizens of Middletown.

But living hear for over a year now, I am afraid that is is a pipe dream. However,  I still hold out hope that things can change if WE can get the the people of this community to wake up and see what is going on and take back the city.
