I did not know that Ohio had an eSchool that is operated for free for the education of Ohio students.

Also check out their State Report Card,  seems they do better than Middletown School District in many areas:  http://www.ode.state.oh.us/reportcardfiles/2006-2007/BUILD/142950.PDF - http://www.ode.state.oh.us/reportcardfiles/2006-2007/BUILD/142950.PDF

Read through some of this info that you provided. Can't find how this school is funded in the presentation. Did I overlook that? Noticed that they have the concept of making the parents "learning coaches". That concept won't work here in Middletown as a number of parents choose not to get involved in their kids education or work with the teachers and some teachers choose not to work with the parents. As you mention, the report seems to indicate that this program has better results in some areas than the Middletown schools do, but that, in reality, is nothing to write home about.

Vet this school system is considered part of the Ohio Public School System so is funded somehow thru the state.

I don't know Vet 19 out of 29 indicators sure beats 6 out of 29.

They also have a Private School version which is $4-6k in cost from the brief glance I gave it.  You can start at http://www.k12.com/curriculum_and_products/schooling_programs/online_public_schools/ - http://www.k12.com  if you want more info.
