It appears that opposing views are not tolerated on this site either!

We accept all points of view. What are you referring to Mike?

John do you all not see the problem with your forum today?  Posts are Missing by Mr. Presta and others from earlier today.  The forum has been up and down all day from my computer and I have tried from 3 different computers.

Whole subjects are missing the best I can tell now.

Mike
When is the next meeting at the library?
I think we need to start getting our ducks in a row before fall.

Pacman- I, too, tried to post yesterday and kept getting a server failure message. I tried a new topic on basement flooding and it looks like it never posted. Will try again. I hope this is as John says, an upgrade, and not what we experienced on the Journal's site of censorship. Hate to think that the games could be played no matter where we decide to post our views, however, I know council and some of the club members in this town and also know that they are very capable of childish things like exclusion/censorship.

When John said we were having "Technical Difficulties" he was being kind.

This software, which is a common off the shelf forum software package, is apparently subject to exploits. As evidenced by the now visible scripts that appear in all the comments on this thread.

The problems started last week when the little graphic above some profile pictures no longer displayed and was actually turned into a web address that was only visible when you requested the property of the broken image.

We were working on that problem when things went off the deep end yesterday morning and the entire forum was compromised. We have been in nonstop communication with the software manufacturer and have as you can tell upgraded the software in hopes of closing any security holes.

In that effort the forum and the website were taken offline several times yesterday and backup copies were used to remove compromised content. Some posts may have been lost in the process of restoring and we apologize.

In order not to give the attackers any added advantage we prefer to not publically comment on our efforts to correct the situation.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me anytime.

arwendt - Thanks for the explanation.  Tried to post several times yesterday and wondered what the problem was.  Nice to see the quick response to the problems on this Blog Forum
