Perhaps Ms. Moon can tell us how much of our tax money has been "invested" in this property.

Mike
I think this is the property that the city purchased, demoed the house and built a new house on the site.
I will pull all the records next week after they close the 2011 books

I'm told by someone "in the know" that the City provided Federal bucks to aid the former owners of the original house in rehabilitating that dwelling.  Next, these former owners stopped making loan payments to the City.  Then, Marty Kohler assisted by his consulting legal counsel, foreclosed on the property.  Step three was for the City to squander more HUD dollars to demolish the original house.  Lastly, Mr. Adkins spent an unknown amount of new HUD dollars to build a new dwelling on this vacant lot.  It's not known the total amount of Federal tax dollars wasted on this one project.  This and a couple of other projects apparently were not discussed publicly at City Council meetings.

Mrs. Moon,

Much was said about the gigantic waste of our Federal tax dollars on Mr. Adkins recent foreclosed home program.  How many houses were bought by the City?  How much was spent repairing them?  What was the combined cost of buying and fixing these houses?  How much did the City sell these houses for?  Are any of these homes still unsold?  If any are unsold, what is the monthly property maintenance cost?

2012 is an election year and too many examples of these bureaucratic boondoggles need to be investigated.  I say "clean house" of the spendthrifts who are ruining the future of our children and grandchildren.  This kind of cavalier financial behavior would never be tolerated in the private sector.
