I am unsure why the City of Middletown is hiring when, during budget discussions, they have talked about reductions in forces. Perhaps this is someone to do the work that the people who are repaving bike paths or demolishing swimming pools are supposed to be doing???

We can only hope that preference is given to Middletonians.

From recent hirings, it seems that preference is given to those from Kettering.

Would be interesting to track this position and note where the worker is used. Perhaps someone retired or resigned and this is simply a replacement for an already created position. IF this is a newly created position, perhaps a question should be asked to Ms. Gilleland about the need considering she is suppose to be downsizing (rightsizing) the city personnel. Perhaps it's on the advice of the Huelsminator. as there may be a need for work to be done at a few of our esteemed city leader's homes......say, the South Main St. area? Didn't that happen a few years back at Kohler's home? Don't remember.

I asked around and heard someone in public works quit, and that job is to replace them.
