Husband, wife named United Way co-chairs

MIDDLETOWN — Dr. William Andrew said he and his wife, Marcia, are a perfect match for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati–Middletown Area and its philosophies.

If the agency hopes to exceed last year’s campaign, Dr. Andrew said those who are having “a difficult time” financially still need to donate to the United Way.

"A DIFFICULT TIME FINANCIALLY STILL NEED TO DONATE....."

DID YOU REALLY MEAN WHAT YOU SAID HERE DR. ANDREW? KNOWING THE JOURNAL, DID YOU ACTUALLY SAY THIS? IF SO, YOU DO KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK, SOMETIMES DECIDING WHETHER TO FILL THOSE PRESCRIPTIONS OR TO BUY FOOD. SOMETIMES, BILLS ARE DELAYED IN THEIR PAYMENT. YOU ARE ALSO AWARE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE LOSING JOBS, THEIR HOMES, THEIR WAY OF LIFE, AREN'T YOU? THIS STATEMENT OF YOURS, APPEARS ON THE SURFACE, TO HAVE A CALLOUS MESSAGE TO IT. THIS STATEMENT OF YOURS SUGGESTS YOU ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO DON'T ENJOY THE SOCIAL STATUS THAT YOU APPARENTLY ENJOY. NOT ALL OF US HAVE THE EXTRA MONEY TO DEVOTE TO THESE ENDEAVORS.

I have came to the conclusion that those lucky enough to have a substantial income have become detached from the realities of life.I call this lala land.
