Hermes: There were HISTORIC bar room brawls in some of the buildings pictured. We must preserve this part of Middletown's culture!!!

Some of the older houses in these pictures blow away the cheaply constructed houses of today.I would love to be able to restore one of them but then again who would want to live in some of these neighborhoods.

Awesome pictures!
Next to parts of Cincinnati, we've got the best homes (some in the worst neighborhoods, hope that changes) in all of Southwestern, Ohio!

So all these houses listed here are on the demo list, what a shame. Some of them look very livable,I guess pictures can be deceiving. I'll be glad to see the green spaces when these houses are torn down,we need lots of green space, that way we can claim Middeltown as a "green city". We need to do our part to save the planet,I think it's great !!

Tell me this isn't true,do they really have the old #2 fire station on the tear down list ? That is sad as I spent part of my childhood living by that station when it was in operation. The firemen from there were like a second family to the kids in the area. How Crawford street has changed over the years.

Bocephus Not all the homes in these photos are on the demo list. The old Fire House next to Crawford Park is not on the demo list….however the house that was located on the south side of the park was demoed.

We do have have some wonderful older homes all over Middletown that need to be saved...however...the only way to save these neighborhoods is look at the changes needed in each and every block. You must have a plan for the entire area. (like Crawford Street)
Both the City and the owers of the properties must come together before change will ever happen.
We can't just continue to demo without a PLAN.

Bo - No those homes are not on any demo list I was being sarcastic and a few other choice words. Those older homes are some beautiful houses and I would hope Middeltown never decides they need to go but you never know about this bunch. Nothing is sacred in this town.
