Jeffrey Michel has filled a petition to run for city council in the 3rd ward, and like all other candidates running for council I contacted him to ask if he would be interested in taking part in the interviews that MiddletownUSA has been conducting.

So, at 8:25 am on August 19, 2009 Mr. Michel told MiddletownUSA that he is not interested in taking our interview. I explained that a large number of the candidates have participated in the process and this may help him to let the voters know where he stands on some issues. Again he stated that he was not interested at this time.

I also spoke with Mr. Armbruster last night at the city council meeting and he say's that he would love to take part in the interview for MiddletownUSA.com

I will be contacting his office again (I have made many calls to his office) and trying to set something up.

Don't expect Jeff Michele to have anything to do with Middletown USA. When it comes to his position about the issues that he is willing to debate, he will only speak to the established press. He has been chosen by the power brokers to beat Tony Marconi and the use of this site will be limited to attacking  anyone who opposes him.

If you're running for any position, you gotta let as many people know where you stand on the issues as possible. Don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to take part in this. Doesn't cost a dime and is a great platform to get your message out. I would encourage all candidates to take full advantage. Perhaps Mr. Michel is afraid he'll take a verbal beating on this forum or he really doesn't have any noteworthy ideas outside of his petition work allowing voters a sayso on the Charter issues. Perhaps he may infuriate the MMF folks that seem to want to eagerly sponsor his petition. Don't want to step out of line trying to please those "esteemed" power people, do we?     Surprised Armbruster took you up on this. Will be interesting to read his responses to find out if they actually have any content or not. He usually glosses over the important topics that matter and is "energetic" when discussing pools and parks. Need Mr. Barge to step up. Like to see him unseat Armbruster. Perhaps, then, we'll actually see some activity coming out of the 1st Ward. Where's AJ Smith on this? Surely, he has something to say. Where is his boldness that he demonstrated while running for school board and marching on city hall from the high school? C'mon AJ- let's go!!!!

2000+- Then Jeff Michel is in for a rude awakening from the general public if he wins Marconi's current seat, isn't he? If he takes the "club" stance and represents their views, he'll have some potential issues from this 3rd Ward resident.

Mr. Michele doesn't need this forum. While it may a have a lot of viewers, the number of active participents is small. He knows his task is to appeal to the mainstream traditional conservative voters of the 3rd. ward.

I think is is critical that Mr Nagy file his completed petition and become an actual candidate for the 4th. ward. He can beat Mr. Picard for a variety of reasons but it will have to be about the common man voters electing a representative of their interests vs. those of the elite.

A good politician takes every chance possible to speak to the public so I think Mr Michel is making a mistake by not answering questions on here regardless of the size or number of people who read this forum. A move like that tells me he may have something to hide or his intentions are not the best.

Paul Nagy would provide a real voice for us ordinary citizens.  He is tireless in challenging the elitists and power brokers.  He seeks TRANSPARENCY in local government that we haven't had for some considerable period of time.

Vote Paul Nagy, Ward 4 City Council.
