It's called the Longbranch Saloon, across from Frisch's by Middletown Airport. My husband passed away 2 yrs ago, my daughter passed last year and left me a tiny baby. It's just more than I can handle since I got the baby. I want to go live with my son who's in the military stationed at Luke AFB, Phoenix. He's going to England for 3 yrs in January and I want to go with him.

My condolences on your losses.

Sorry, but I wouldn't be interested in that location.

However, please do thank your son for his service to our country!!!

Thank you for your interest and I appreciate you appreciating my son. There are so many who don't appreciate our military.
I had hoped Middletown would realize this end of town is also a "doorway" into Middletown and would make some effort to prevent it from becoming another ghetto. There was some talk about developing the area around the airport. I also heard some rumors about bringing more industry to this area and making Carmody Blvd an industrial park. Alas . . .

Sorry for your losses.
I truly appreciate military men.
Good luck in your endeavors and best wishes with your new addition to the family.

Is the place listed with someone? I could post to a different forum for you, but would need more information. You never know!~

Does this come with the liquor license and what is your asking price?

I gave the information to another bar owner way back. I believe your business is on the City's web site.
I had seen it there a while back. Good Luck.

Yes, liquor license, lock stock and barrell. There is also a small cottage that could be rented out. Someone else asked about this but decided the location was wrong. I have to admit we are on the wrong side of town far, far away from the beautiful Atrium area. We are directly across from Frisch's. Asking price $200K for everything.

Back when the Avalon trailer park was newer and was full that bar was pretty full and a lot of fun. Does not help that Davey's is closed, Aeronca no longer around, etc. Frisch's is still a decent draw but not many people mix those two activities. I can't remember, does the bar have kitchen service? A sports bar of some sort might work there if the food was good. If the food is good most guys that I know will choose the one with beer. But it needs to be family friendly during the day. Perfect example is Putters on Cin Day. My kids love that place, we typically go in the 12-3 timeframe on Sat's. But at night it turns adult but that allows them to serve two purposes - family meals and then bands and social time at night.

I am dying to open an unconventional sports bar/Irish pub that supports the other sports (soccer, racing, etc.) but I don't think it will work on Rt. 4 in 2009. Good luck and I hope someone buys it and makes a safe place for me to go have a beer.

Unfortunately there is no kitchen and not a lot of room to add one. This end of town is kind of neglected by the city. We have owned the bar since 1982. You are right, it's not what it once was since Aeronca shut sown. Still steady though. It is a safe place to come, kind of like Cheers. If I didn't have a 2 yr old I wouldn't even consider selling.
