Butler County unemployment rate spikes to 10.5%; Middletown tops list at 12.9%; Economic Development at work??ConfusedConfused

Unemployment increased in Butler County again last month, jumping from 9.7 to 10.5 percent for the month of June.

According to a report by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, about 1,600 more people found themselves jobless last month compared to May.

Hamilton, Middletown and Fairfield, the only Butler County cities tracked by the state report, also experienced spikes in unemployment.

In Middletown, the unemployment rate jumped from 12 percent to 12.9 percent. OuchOuch

Hamilton’s rate for June was 12.1 percent, compared to 11.4 percent in May.

In Fairfield, about 200 more people were jobless, with the city reporting an unemployment rate of 9.8 percent, compared to 8.9 percent.

Are those figures accurate ?!! 12.9% in Middeltown ? Seems awfully high to me.

If working, middle class families don't wish to move back to Middletown, how are you going to stop them?? ConfusedConfusedConfused
