An interview with Gilleland is in order here as to why she is doing this.  If you request and interview and she tells you to buzz off I would expect that to be reported.  If she gives you an interviw I would hope there is a good reason for this and Not the obligatory, "MIDDLETOWN HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE"...Smile Big%20smile.  It would seem the Economic Dev. Dept. is being relagated to Siberia for some reason.

While you have her attention let's hear about some of the other issues facing Middletown.  On another note why do these issues end up buried in your blog?

Office locations are changing soon at the Middletown City Building.

The city’s Economic Development Department will soon be moving out of their space near the City Manager’s Office and will be moving into space that has been occupied by Middfest International for the past 21 years.

“We’re going to be welcoming our new roommates,” said Virginia Ritan, Middfest’s executive director.

Ritan said City Manager Judy Gilleland has informed the international festival’s organization that they would have to vacate their current space after this year’s festival.

“We couldn’t have possibly move out in the next three months and get through Middfest,” she said. “There’s been lots of discussion but there is no plan in place.”

Ritan said it has not been determined if the 29-year-old organization would still be located in the city building at the end of the festival. She said the organization does not pay rent for the space but that it was provided as part of the city’s partnership with Middfest.

Gilleland was not available for comment this afternoon.

Planning and Economic Development should both be mothballed due to poor planning, little development and next to no attempt for business retention.

Hey-we are better off with Midfest having the space, since at least they make something happen for one week each year.

Y'all call Sunset and Weatherwax a waste of taxpayer $$, however calulate the total cost of the planning and Econ D departments to see serious $$ wasted.

And there is absolutely no one serving or running that is willing to take on the dead wood.

Why would MMF be happy with any of this?
Time for the "movers" to move their losing ways elsewhere, and the "shakers" have obviously shaken themselves for far too long.

Time to DEMAND change, beginning next Tuesday evening.

This single quote from Mr. Richter's story says it ALL!!!
This statement fits virtually ANYTHING with which our local government has been involved for at least TEN YEARS!!!

Why plan, just cut....

Here's the plan.
1. Cut Jobs
2. Cut Spending

They do not understand the meaning of the word cut when it comes to jobs or spending.
