While Middletown dies!

Once again we hear our Dear Leaders praising the glories of our fair city, the beautiful parks, the wonderful "destination downtown" and its many attractions, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

Oh, by the way, let's spend another HUNDRED GRAND OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS just to DESIGN a new DOORWAY to Never, Never Land.  Who knows how much it will cost us to actually BUILD this wonderful "feature!!

I guess this is more important than our lovely roads and the delightful scent that wafts through our DD (Destination Downtown) after a spring shower.

I'm sure that the new gateway will be grand, it will lead to Never, Never Land!  Two stars to the right, then straight on into night.Disapprove

90 thousand to repair the streets, 98 thousand for the new "door" to Middletown

Is it possible that senior City staff will devise a way to use some of the "HUD STIMULUS FUNNY MONEY" to fund a glorious gateway?  However, that means less home demolitions and a delayed commencement of HOUSING CODE ENFORCEMENT BLITZKRIEG - PART 2.  Will the bureaucrats have a "SPECIAL FRIEND" design a crossed sabres entryway like Baghdad of the past?

How about a monument, by the interchange, with a statue of the councilmembers on each corner and the city manager in the center, holding the "torch of progress" and pointing(could even be a moving arm) to the city as she directs newcomers to the land of milk and honey? This may be the perfect way to pay tribute to our world class leaders as they, once again, demonstrate the proper use of taxpayer money! The streets be damned, I say! Now- we can't go too elaborate on this as we don't want to offend our neighbors to the south with the "Touchdown Jesus" statue. Be careful here! This gateway must be an attention getter, but it can't be too gawdy. We also need to include young Martin "the King" Kohler and Leslie "Lawman" Landon in this too. Don't want hurt feelings on this!

Let's see if City Hall will follow THEIR OWN RULES regarding signs with this "gateway"!!!

It'll have to be very SMALL, LOW to the ground, HIDDEN by landscaping, and NOT visible from the Interstate!!

I could design it for free!!

You always speak the truth, Mike!  Keep the heat on the all-knowing bureaucrats at One Donham Plaza!
