$6 per month for $100k worth of property. Consider it a small price to pay to help stem the falling real estate values in Middletown.

While we don't agree with 100% of what the school district has done the the past few years, we do endorse this levy because it is the best economic decision you can make.

Face it, you need your home value to climb, and we need our children to have the best education possible.

Vote for the $6 Back to School levy!

I have high hopes for the levy passing, but there seem to be a lot of people very dissatisfied with the way the school board is running things. It's going to be a very close vote, I'm sure of that.

Voting to keep the renewal in place, instead of the strong arm tactics that Price and the BOE take, would have maintained the schools.  And now you have the additonal funds from the State thrown into the mix.

Price and the BOE did nothing more than play hardball with the Students of Middletown as the collateral.

The levy system of taxation needs to change, towns such as Middletown can not survive on a system such as this.  The Town is held hostage by basically three unions AK, Teachers Union and Public Safety Unions, all who make significantly more than the average worker in Middletown.

The Teachers Union and Public Safety Unions must realize that pay freezes are needed and concessions on paid benefits.  If concessions are not made then you will see job loss and such duties taken over by the Sheriff and private enterprise.  The constant gimme, must end until such time, if ever, that Middletown recovers.

Do I like this, no but it is the facts that must be faced in Middletown at the present time.
