We all know that nationally, newspaper circulation is down. But what about locally?
 
Well the local story is just like the national story. Many people prefer to get their news online.

I think the paper has been struggling for years.

 
If it was making any decent amount of money why would Thomson have traded it to Cox about 9 years ago?

It's just the natural progression of things. As new technology emerges, innovation will pull all media towards the digital and away from the old methods of distribution.
