Tonight, I'm going to be especially interested in Council's five to ten year vision for the city that Mr. Marconi referenced. The components of that vision are vital to a tun-around for our city and are vitally important to any real revitalization for our entire city.
I wish they had proposed it much earlier rather than now at election time. It takes away credibility.

Mr. Nagy
I find this a very strange time and place to unveil the NEW VISION of It is simply the same vision in a different package that has been going on in this town for years. City Hall wants to dump millions more into their failed Downtown Area with no regard to what the citizens of this town really want or need. |

Vivian,
I couldn't agree with you more. The announcement came from an article in Monday's Mj on page C1 entitled JOINT TALKS ON TAP. It mentioned eleven topics for discussion and then stated, ".....the city's plan for Section 8 vouchers, and City Council's vision for Middletown for the next five to 10 years."
3rd Ward Councilman Tony Marconi said its also an opportunity for teh council to share its vision."As the city goes, so goes teh schools and as the school goes so does the city." he said.
It should be informative.

This is the same pitch they used when trying to get the 2.25 tax rate. Anyone with a degree of intelligence knows when the city has a bad reputation the schools decline. When the schools perform poorly, the city is not coveted. And this a vision and master plan? This is why the city goes down the tube. These incredibly large macro statements that mean nothing, they are evident to all, and have the same effect in any city. Most people prefer blue skies and sunny weather. Windy, cold rain is bad. That's the cause and effect analogy they use.

Mr. Nagy if you blinked last night you missed the Vision for the next 5-10 years for the city, that is how indepth the discussion was on that topic.
