I'll go to TV Middletown to see the show. Hope he didn't upset some of my favorite city leaders. |

Well I watched the Laubach segment of the city council meeting. Said some things that all of the members should be reminded of. Unfortunately, the other six on council (with the potential exception of Scott-Jones) won't pay heed, won't emulate the suggestions nor will they waste their time trying to change themselves to be better councilpersons. They have chosen to serve the interests of a small segment of our city and have really never considered representing the people, nor doing the council job correctly. They are as sorry as the city manager and her crew. Self-serving, egotistical, inept, puppet-driven people never make good reps and will never help this city. Laubach is the only one who had enough honesty to admit what he should be doing and who he should be representing. The rest of 'em......bought and paid for court jesters for the city's elite who really call the shots here. Sad for the city and the people of Middletown. If this town is to change for the better, they all need to go......behind and in front of that council desk and the elite calling the shots needs to be neutralized.
As a side note.....I liked how the Scott-Jones request to address the lady who has been writing complaints to the city for years played out. Gilleland, trying to delicately tell council that the city doesn't usually answer complaints and how Picard delicately answers that some complaints have been legitimate and some false accusations. Of course, Danny Boy has PERSONALLY investigated each and every one of the complaints.....yeah, right Danny. These people are so full of it. |

Sitting here trying to think of any reason why Mr. Laubach would want to be vice mayor, given the lack of support and enthusiasm he received from his speech during the council meeting and in the three + years he's been on council. He's got to know he has always been odd man out with the other 5 (with Scott-Jones coming the closest to supporting his ideas). Would he really expect any cooperation from the others in his quest to gain some leadership skills during his council run? Impossible to change the complexion and thinking of council/city hall with the current anti-citizen attitude of the majority and within the city building. Josh needs some help in the form of like-minded people to complete a majority. That too, may be impossible given the lack of interest in citizen participation. It is a frustrating situation for people who want change. We need a purge. |

well maybe if Josh is appointed vice-mayor He can "out"his small minded council members And at least gain points with the voters. Call them on the carpet ask them why they are not following the will of the people, not just a few special interest groups

And just what is the "will of the people"? From the looks of the voter turnout, the will of the people is to stay home and eat potato chips.
Isn't the will of the people a desire to see SOME kind of economic activity in town? For better or worse, we are seeing that.
