On July 5, 2009, 5 years after the dedication of the Veterans Memorial
at Woodside Cemetery, there was a rededication to mark the anniversary.
The event, which lasted about an hour and a half, featured speakers
David and Dawn Spencer who's son William D. Spencer, known as Billy,
was killed in action fighting in Fuljas. The unveiling of a picture
along with Billy's name on the wall was an emotional time for the
family. As Mr. Spencer spoke he made a promise to all Vets past,
present and future "as long as I have a breath, you will not be
forgotten.”
This really was a great ceremony and I was honored to be there. If you are interested in the complete story click here Ceremony At Middletown Woodside Cemetery To see all the pictures I took of the dedication click here Veterans Memorial At Woodside |
