Hey- we didn't get done what we wanted to this year, but we are proud of our 19-3 squad. Perhaps the Princeton game took alot more out of the team than we thought. St. X is a good club. Don't know how they lost more than two or three games this season. A sincere thank you goes out to Mr. Ronai and the team for providing us with some enjoyment in otherwise bleak national and local times. Nice job

Once again, I agree! The Middies should be proud of a fine season.
I hope that the players put the disappointment of the last game behind them, and hit the books since it is obvious that several could have opportunities at the college and Community college level.

Can't agree more.
I was a small part of this program for the last 3+ years.
Took coach that long to bring this program out of the garbage can unfortunately.
By the end of the year, the stands were packed for every game and you could hardly find a place to park. Haven't seen that in well over 20 years.
Hope he sticks around with his son and the current staff, because they have put together a much more coherent feeder program.
Time for the school admin to pay these guys and put them on the same level of importance as they have put the football program. This team was invited to very prestigious tourneys in New York and Florida, representing us very well both on the court and off the court. No arrests or cover-ups, academic excellence, and well-mannered respect in all conversation. Very sad to see it end with their worst effort of the season.
This hoops program could teach Council, school admin and the rest of the community a few things about dedication, consistency, respect and hard work towards a goal for an extended period of time.
If we support and encourage each other(particularly the youth) and lead by example instead of words, even better things will come.

The Middies looked great this year in basketball. Congratulations to all those hard working guys who played with great pride.
The Middies are another bright spot in our city. |
