Business Manager Hiring

Journal story yesterday said that the Midd. school district has a new Business Manager and gave his credentials as well as his job responsibilities. Sounds like he has alot on his plate. Story didn't mention his salary, why he was chosen or whether he was a replacement or if this was a newly created job slot. The story also signaled a trend by this district to appear to be acting in secrecy within their own little world, excluding the public. It seems that this story, and this position being filled, came up "out of the blue" with no prior information during the hiring process. This secrecy that rears it's ugly head in the schools operation from time to time, tends to sour some people toward supporting their cause. Now that the Treasurer's position has been announced, will we next read a story about them being chosen or will we be included with information DURING the hiring process and the reason's why they were hired?? After all, we are funding the position. That gives us a right to know.
