Whether or not you're still stuck in the dark, here's an event that will enlighten you and brighten your day...!

Summer Arts Workshop Student Exhibition
Saturday, September 27
4-6:00 PM
Miami Middletown Downtown
4 North Main St.
Free parking behind the building

The Art Central Foundation (ACF) is pleased to announce the culmination of our Summer Art Workshops (SAW), with an exhibition of work produced by the students. There were eight different classes, each focusing on eight different visual art media: watercolor, acrylic, clay, drawing, paper, fiber, sculpture & photography. The show will include examples of student selected work from each of these classes. There will be refreshments served as well as the opportunity to participate in several art projects with the students that day.

The students involved in SAW were nominated by their school art teacher last spring and went through a selection process to be placed in a class. The instructors were, for the most part, art teachers in Middletown public or private schools. The classes that reached, or came close to capacity, also had student aides to assist the instructors. These were young volunteers from the region who are interested in the arts.  The SAW students, instructors and aides will be in attendance, as well as members of the Art Central Foundation Board of Directors. The community is also invited to attend to view the work and meet the young artists. For more information, please contact Sue Rogers: 422-4435 | souixp2@earthlink.net

I'm stuck in the dark and the exhibition sounds like a nice time. I would love to see SAW.

Sorry to hear about your power situation, Jonathan! Stop by MMD and we'll see if we can't brighten your day, at least for a short while.
