Bill would return multiplication tables, cursive to classroomsCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Teachers are one step closer to teaching cursive and multiplication tables in the classroom. The State House passed a bill Thursday called Back to Basics. The legislation puts the state Board of Education in control of making sure fifth graders know how to write in cursive and have memorized multiplication tables. The bill is headed to the Senate. |
